Combining Candela Devices for Successful Skin Rejuvenation & Scar Revision

At a recent workshop focused on the latest skin rejuvenation and scar revision treatments, leading international Dermatologist, Professor Firas Al-Niaimi, highlighted the successful use of combining Candela’s devices Nordlys™, PicoWay® and Vbeam® to achieve outstanding patient results.

Candela’s Nordlys™ Device

Prof Al-Niaimi recommends Nordlys™ as his ‘go-to’ device, which combines IPL, a non-ablative factional treatment and YAG modalities. This device treats both skin rejuvenation and hair removal, as well as fractional superficial tissue remodelling. Candela’s Nordlys™ also treats capillaries, vascular lesions and port wine stains.

The Nordlys™ system, in contrast to other IPL technology, uses narrower wavelength bands enabling the successful treatment of photodamaged skin. It also uses less than half the fluence and requires no active cooling, with fewer treatments to achieve excellent results.

From Prof Al-Niaimi experience, the Nordlys™ system provides a high ROI for clinicians for its fractional non-ablative resurfacing capabilities and patient satisfaction. In Professor Al-Niaimi’s experience, the Nordlys™ system is quickly becoming a go-to platform for new and existing aesthetic practices.

Candela’s Vbeam® Device

For vascular conditions, Prof Al-Niaimi recommends Candela’s Vbeam® device.  The Vbeam™ Laser uses advanced laser technology to treat various vascular conditions, including telangiectasias, rosacea, angiomas, port wine stain birthmarks, warts, scars, and red stretch marks. With a built-in cooling system, he says that the Vbeam™ Laser can remove skin spots and vascular lesions gently. Prof Al-Niaimi has also successfully treated scars with Candela’s Vbeam® device with excellent results.

Candela’s PicoWay® Device

PicoWay® is a high power, ultra-short pulse, photoacoustic laser to treat acne scars, wrinkles, pigmentation and tattoos. According to Professor Firas Al-Niaimi, there are a variety of approaches that can be used in tandem that can aid skin rejuvenation and help to reduce scars including the use of Candela’s PicoWay®device.

Combining Candela’s PicoWay®, Nordlys™ and Vbeam® for Optimum Results

Another important observation that Prof Al-Niaimi shared with attendees was that the outstanding results he achieved were further enhanced when the three Candela devices, Nordlys™, Vbeam® and PicoWay®, are used in combination with topicals. Prof Al-Niaimi explained that the use of skin boosters or bio-remodelling injectables when used prior to any of these treatments, would enhance the skin’s hydration levels and add to the overall achievement of healthy, radiant skin.

Some of the other treatments Candela devices can address include treating benign vascular and pigmented lesions, scar revision, facial skin resurfacing, wrinkle reduction, acne, spider veins, the reduction of cellulite, body shaping, as well as treating gynaecological conditions, plus tattoo and hair removal.
