Today’s guest is Dr Jon Exley for Professional Beauty Solutions.
Jon’s interest in lasers began whilst studying physics both at the University of Leeds (UK) and the Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble (France). Following graduation with a first-class honours’ degree; he joined one of the UK’s leading medical laser research centres at the University of Manchester to undertake a PhD research project sponsored by Lynton, which he completed in 1999.
He is currently the Managing Director of Lynton Lasers since 2009. He also serves as the Honorary Secretary of the British Medical Laser Association (BMLA) which he represents in the Expert Reference Group established by Health Education England (NHS). This group was responsible for creating a novel educational qualification framework dedicated to the application of Lasers, Intense Pulsed Light, and LED in non-surgical cosmetic interventions.
Additionally, Jon plays a crucial role in the broader industry landscape and was recently appointed to the External Advisory Board for the University of Manchester (Dept. of Physics).

Kathryn Dumaresq is a highly experienced skin therapist who has been working in the beauty industry for over 10 years. She joined this field with the aim of assisting individuals with their skin issues, particularly acne, which she personally struggled with due to hormonal breakouts throughout her life.
A mum of one with another on the way, with a family of her own she became increasingly interested in living a life that is as free from harmful chemicals and additives from the ingredients in food to the cleaning products she uses in her home and of course her skincare, however still prioritizing quality and effective results for her skin.
Kathryn is committed to education and advancing her professional skills. She has pursued further studies in health science, nutrition, business, and taken various short courses in disciplines such as skin anatomy, digital design, and cosmetic chemistry. Additionally, she has received product training for over 10 different skincare lines, gaining extensive knowledge on ingredients and how they can help improve skin.
She is a qualified trainer and assessor who works for an RTO in beauty education part time alongside her role for Australian Colour Technologies.
As the Trainer for The Bdr Medical Beauty Branch since 2018, she creates all training materials for Bdr medical beauty in Australia and New Zealand after completing the training offered by the head office of Bdr in Germany.

Dr Amira Sanki is a fully trained and qualified Australian Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Amira graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2000 with Honours in Medicine and Surgery. She undertook her internship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr Sanki undertook intensive training in General and Plastic Surgery in Sydney for ten years. Upon receiving her Fellowship in Plastic Surgery from The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Amira completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship and commenced practice at Southern Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
As Vice President and Chair of Education for the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, she is committed to improving the quality of education offered to specialist plastic surgeons and training plastic surgeons. She regularly teaches and lectures other doctors and speaks at community information nights for her local hospitals. She is passionate about ensuring public safety by encouraging patients to thoroughly research their surgical options and by promoting the important difference between specialist plastic surgeons and cosmetic practitioners.
