Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians announces National Dermal Clinicians Day on 1 October

Announcing National Dermal Clinicians Day

Having been established over two decades ago and still experiencing rapid growth, we decided it was time to officially celebrate the Dermal Therapies sector. Coinciding with ASDC’s 21st birthday, this year we will also be celebrating what we hope to be an annual event over years to come - introducing National Dermal Clinicians Day! October 1st, 2021 will mark the official launch of what we hope to be an industry-wide celebration of Dermal Clinicians and Dermal Therapists around the country, with businesses and individuals alike taking a moment to acknowledge the achievements of formally-qualified dermal practitioners. Dermal Clinicians complement other medical and allied health professionals, and often act as a first point of contact for patients. They can work collaboratively to ensure best patient outcomes, seeking to improve patient concerns and quality of life through effective and safe skin health management strategies.

There are endless career opportunities and niche segments of the industry where Dermal Therapists & Clinicians can thrive in, and yet often these skills can be underestimated, and the extent of studies and knowledge imparted on dermal graduates remains a mystery to a large portion of the industry. We wanted to use this opportunity to spread some much-needed awareness around the various capabilities, career opportunities, and unique facets of dermal practitioners throughout Australia, in an effort to encourage more practitioners into the field of Dermal Therapies and provide some clarification on what it means to be a Dermal Clinician.

As an ASDC member, we hope you will celebrate alongside us, and help us to spread the word throughout your own networks.

Ways to celebrate, individually or with your team

Get your Dermal Clinicians and/or Therapists together for a glass of bubbles after work, or have a team breakfast to start the day on October 1st. Don’t forget to share a team photo on your social media and include some info on what the celebrations are about!

Block off time to do treatments on each other. We never make enough time to do this, so what better excuse to finally get your team on the beds!

Dermal clinicians work damn hard - have a meditation or team yoga session to breathe deep and relax.

We’ve created some social media templates for you to share - if you use Canva, upload these and add in your photos and details in the spaces provided, and spread the word on socials to help boost some morale among your team, educate your clients on the amazing knowledge your practitioners have under their belts, and encourage others to do the same. Social tiles for ASDC members can be downloaded here, and tiles for non-members here.

Mark October 1st in your calendars as a recurring annual event - so we can celebrate together in years to come!
