Can you believe it's already August? This year is flying by so quickly that it's hard to keep track! In this update, I'd like to give you an overview of the amazing events that are coming up on the ABIC calendar. There's never been a more crucial time to invest in your education and the services that make your clinic stand out.

Is Australia heading towards a recession? Recent reports suggest that interest rates have increased and are expected to rise further.  Consumers, whether they have high or low disposable incomes, are now more mindful of their spending habits. They are more conscious of value, which is why it's important for businesses to provide products or services that offer value. Clinic owners and therapists are already feeling the impact of rising costs in their personal and professional lives.

The solution is straightforward but requires hard work, dedication, and consistency. It's simple: knowledge is power. Equip yourself with as much knowledge as possible, and you will emerge from this time with a sense of pride. This doesn't mean investing in cheesy sales courses or pressuring your staff to sell more. Instead, invest your time in three key areas.

1. It's important to listen to your staff, clients, and community. Asking questions and taking in information proactively will allow you to build trust and empathy. Avoid gossip and hearsay by asking the right questions, even if they're difficult. Positive feedback is important for morale, but negative feedback can empower you to make informed, constructive changes. 
2. Don't neglect areas of your business that you don't enjoy or feel confident in. Seek help from coaches, marketers, and mentors. The ABIC community offers great support services, including coaches, marketers, facilitators, and HR support available Monday to Friday. 
3. Education is also key. Attend events and listen to inspiring speakers to gain new ideas and motivation. ABIC's event calendar is full of opportunities to learn and grow.

From the 26th – 27th of August, we are back at BEAUTY EXPO AUSTRALIA with ABIC’s annual networking lounge.

Beauty Expo Australia is the country’s largest gathering of beauty brands, suppliers, and professionals. Join us as at the ABIC lounge as we celebrate, elevate, and reconnect with the beauty industry.

On the 27th of August, ABIC is thrilled to be back at the ABIA awards! See the ABIC team, ABIC Council Members and Industry Members all together celebrating another year of success within the industry. 

The ABIA (Australian Beauty Industry Awards) were launched in 2011 to provide the Australian Beauty and Make Up Industry a much-needed and often requested benchmark of excellence in business and creative ability on a state-by-state basis. With categories including the ABIA Australian Salon Business of the Year large and small and the AMIA Make Up Artist of the Year, these awards culminate in an annual gala event in August following the Sydney Beauty Expo. The awards were launched due to industry demand and are judged by an independent panel of judges, media, PR and business specialists.

Monday the 28th of August - JANINE TAIT - GUT & SKIN TRAINING

Join Janine Tait at the ICC Darling Harbour for Gut & Skin Training, an educational event open to all skin professionals. This one-day course will provide you with a holistic approach to skin disorders. You will gain a deeper understanding of how the body and skin work, how lifestyle and diet affect the skin, and how to achieve optimal skin health by going beyond just products and treatments. If you or your staff are unsure about the connection between gut health and skin health, this event is a must-attend.

Monday the 28th of August - the highly anticipated Medical Microneedling Conference, proudly brought to you by derma aesthetics, which is centred around the theme of pushing the boundaries and enhancing treatment results, with international guest speaker Dr Matthias.

This is a remarkable opportunity to learn from a world leader.

Tuesday 29th of August at the ICC Sydney Professional Beauty Solutions are excited to have Jennifer Ahartz (Image Skincare International Corporate Educator) fly out from the US to host their Image Skincare Advanced Peel Masterclass which will be held on the Tuesday 29th August (straight after Beauty Expo) from 9-4 pm.
